5 trends enveloping healthcare technology in 2016

Practice Management

Healthcare technology will see some major trends in 2016, according to Advance Healthcare Network.

Here are five trends:

1. Value-based care. The companies who hesitated in 2015 will now have to make more significant shifts to alternative payment models, which will lead to more adoption of technology.

2. Care management record. This technology allows providers to understand what is happening in between patient visits. Care teams are able to collaborate and stay up-to-date about a patient's all-around care.

3. Patient engagement. In 2016, companies will have to prove actual value their products provide,, instead of just using vague terms, like "patient engagement" and "care coordination."

4. Device data. Although wearables and trackers have captured the industry, the devices aren't yet delivering the care they promised. In 2016, wearables still won't be an integral part of care delivery.

5. Consumer-grade user software experiences. Providers will demand more user-friendly software programs to deliver care.
