Here are eight important findings from The Medicus Firm's 2016 annual placement summary report.

Note: The report includes all data from placements made in partnership with The Medicus Firm in 2015.

 

1. Ninety-two percent of physicians placed were hired as employees, while around 6 percent were placed into a private practice on a net income guarantee and 1.7 percent were placed in a private practice with a gross income guarantee.

 

2. Primary care once comprised 35.57 percent of all placements made.

 

3. Placements in urban communities comprised 36.76 percent of all placements.

 

4. Placement of non-physician advanced practice clinicians, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants, comprised 8.3 percent of total placements, up from 6.34 percent the previous year.

 

5. Physician assistants were the fourth most frequently placed provider in 2015.

 

6. American medical graduate placements reached 71.43 percent.

 

7. DO placements comprised of 11.74 percent of the total percentage of placements.

 

8. Primary care, hospitalists, physician assistants and OB/GYN are top four specialists with the greatest placement and hiring activity for 2015.
