7 ways to mitigate your risk with mobile devices

Smartphones and other technological devices pose a risk for physicians if the devices are lost, stolen or otherwise compromised. Therefore, medical professionals should consider implementing certain measures to ensure they are protected, according to Diagnostic Imaging.

Here are seven ways to mitigate your risk.

 

1. Consistently asses what data is stored.

 

2. Update the system software often and replace hardware when your device's operating systems are no longer supported with regular security updates.

 

3. Encrypt your phone, tablets and laptops.

 

4. Make sure you always log out of devices before leaving them unattended.

 

5. Turn on Find My iPhone.

 

6. Consider using separate Wi-Fi connections for guest and employees to use for personal reasons.

 

7. Utilize reputable password managers.
