Dr. Parikshet Babber named Harris Health's new chief medical officer: 6 notes

Harris Health System in Texas appointed Parikshet A. Babber, MD, to executive vice president and chief medical officer.

Here are six notes:

 

1. Dr. Babber will be in charge of quality, utilization management and medical staff services.

 

2. Before this appointment, Dr. Babber served as senior vice president of medical affairs for Harris Health.

 

3. Harris Health is a 46-facility system, with hospitals, health centers, specialty facilities, school-based clinics, same-day clinics and mobile health units.  

 

4. The health system focuses on improving health through promotion of primary care, prevention and disease management.

 

5. Equipped with 12 years of healthcare experience, Dr. Babber plans to collaborate with physician partners from Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

 

6. Dr. Babber earned his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

 

"One of my goals is to improve quality outcomes and enhance patient safety at Harris Health System," said Dr. Babber.
