1. The NeuroMedical Center is the region's largest specialist team focused on brain, spine and nervous system care. The facility includes surgery and rehabilitation services.
2. The facility, located in Baton Rouge, has more than 25 medical staff members focusing on neurosurgery, neurology, neuropsychology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain medicine and neuroradiology.
3. The Spine Hospital of Louisiana at The NeuroMedical Center received a perfect five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services this past April. Only 7 percent of the 3,500 Medicare-certified hospitals nationwide received the perfect score.
4. The facility is a physician-owned hospital. While physician-owned hospitals account for 5 percent of all hospitals in the United States, 84 of the 251 hospitals with five star ratings were physician-owned.
5. Robert Blair is the CEO of The Spine Hospital of Louisiana, which performed 6,200 surgical and pain procedures last year. The Louisiana Nurses Foundation named the hospital the 2015 Hospital of the Year.
