7 things to know about TouchCare

Practice Management

Medical professionals are using telehealth to connect with patients and enhance physician/patient relations. TouchCare is one of the companies offering telehealth services, according to mHealth Intelligence.

Here are seven things to know:

1. TouchCare has installed a provider-to-provider option, consisting of a network of providers who communicate with one another.

2. Physicians are not the only professionals utilizing TouchCare. Case managers, social works and visiting nurses all use TouchCare to connect with patients and follow-up with them after visits.

3. Mobile health enables all healthcare professionals to have access to regional resources and be part of a large healthcare network.

4. The app also allows medical providers to catch red flag about patients' conditions.

5. Some states, including Delaware, recognize the advantages of telemedicine and have expanded health insurance coverage for telemedicine services.

6. As telemedicine gains popularity, it will likely be used in rural areas or by those who are unable to travel to medical facilities.

7. Many states could revise their policies to accelerate the telehealth movement by breaking down any geographic boundaries or technology restrictions. States can enforce health insures to cover telemedicine services on the same level as in-person visits.
