The Cloud enables physicians to have more facetime with patients — 5 things to know

Practice Management

The new cloud-based EHR system, Nightingale Informatix, gives physicians access to patient records from any browser on any device, according to Forbes.

Here are five things to know:

1. Other EHR systems require physicians to manage and upgrade hardware, apply security patches and back up data frequently, taking away valuable time needed for patients. The Nightingale cloud platform minimizes the number of tasks by eliminating the physical constraints of a client-server solution.

2. Medical professionals additionally can collaborate at much faster rates, impacting patient care.

3. The integrated workflow will reduce data entry errors by simplifying the record keeping process. The predefined templates allow physicians access to relevant data, allowing them to focus on healthcare rather than IT.

4. Nightingale plans to launch an app by the end of that year that will enable physicians to capture audio and photos to supplement traditional notes.

5. The company also plans to devise connected devices such as blood pressure and glucose monitors. The company expects to integrate data from devices owned by physicians and patients within two years.
