The Irvine Stem Cell Treatment Center to open new office: 5 things to know

Practice Management

The Irvine Stem Cell Treatment Center will open a new office in Sacramento, Calif., on July 11, with Thomas A. Gionis, MD, JD, MPH, FAIHQ, serving as surgeon-in-chief.

Here are five things to know:

1. The center is affiliated with Miami Stem Cell Treatment Center and the Manhattan Regenerative Medicine Medical Group.

2. The centers use adult adipose derived stem cells taken from the patient's fat tissue to treat a number of conditions and diseases. The stromal cascular fraction holds the tissue, which is also protein-rich and contains many cells and growth factors to facilitate their activity.

3. The centers are all affiliates of the California Stem Cell Treatment Center/Cell Surgical Network.

4. The fat transfer and stem cell implant are all done same day in the centers under local anesthesia.

5. Dr. Gionis also hosts a Stem Cell Radio show on KABC in Los Angeles, and serves as surgeon-in-chief of Manhattan Regenerative Medicine Medical Group.
