Geneia revealed the findings of their Physician Misery Index and invited physicians to share their ideas to restore "Joy of Medicine," reports Sleep Review.
Among 400 full-time physicians:
- 87 percent say the "business and regulation of healthcare has changed the practice of medicine for the worse."
- Two-thirds know a physician likely to stop practicing in the next five years due to burnout.
- 51 percent of doctors say they have considered other careers outside of clinical practice. Among those with more than 10 years experience, 62 percent say the same.
- 78 percent of doctors say the feel rushed with patients.
