The CORE Institute turns 10 — Are more (international) locations coming in the future? 6 things to know

Practice Management

The CORE Institute is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

The practice opened in January 2005 and grew from one location in Sun City, Ariz., into a chain of 26 facilities and 700 employees in two different states.

"Our phenomenal growth has been built on a platform of evidence-based medicine and meticulous outcomes tracking managed by our proprietary IT platform," said CEO and Chairman David Jacofsky, MD. "It's very rewarding to see our innovative approach to patient care being embraced by hundreds of thousands of patients, from all 50 states and multiple counties. The one thing that has remained the same is our commitment to a proven, evidence-based, outcomes-driven, standardized patient care approach."

Here are six things to know about The CORE Institute's success:

1. The practice expanded in its early years to include orthopedics, spine, pain management, neurology, rheumatology, plastic surgery and physical therapy.

2. The organization supports payer-reform initiatives and hospital alignment strategies, which has served it well in the era of collaborative care.

3. The CORE Institute focuses on evidence-based medicine with its IT platform.

4. The practice also teamed with Cleveland Clinic, OrthoCarolina and The Rothman Institute for the integrated Orthopedic Physician Hospital Organization in 2013. The group operates as the National Orthopaedics & Spine Alliance.

5. Throughout the years, The CORE Institute has been recognized as:

•    #1 orthopedic group by Ranking Arizona
•    Best Place to Work by Phoenix Business Journal
•    Top Docs by Phoenix Magazine

6. In the future, The CORE Institute plans to open locations in other states as well as overseas.

"We're early in our journey as a company and I'm very excited about our future as we expand our efforts to give patients best-in-class care," said Dr. Jacofsky.
