The year 2014 has been called the year of electronic health record replacement, according to a HealthFusion infographic.

According to the graphic, you need to replace the EHR software at your practice if:

 

1. It is late for certification deadlines.
2. It is not designed for the iPad.
3. The EHR vendor is not providing good customer support.
4. The vendor is off-shoring customer support.
5. It is not ICD-10 ready.
6. It is not certified for 2014 meaningful use.
7. It is too hard to use.
8. It is not meeting your specialty needs.
9. It is too expensive.
10. It is server-based.
11. It is not providing integrated practice management software or patient portal.
12. It is not likely to survive the EHR shakeout.
