Harrison Medical Center in Silverdale, Wash., is on schedule to build its new orthopedic hospital for $315 per square foot, well below the cost of other inpatient facilities in the region, according to a Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce report. To save on the cost of construction, the medical center and architectural teams simplified their designs, worked on detailed mock-ups and used off-site construction.
The inpatient surgery facility, set to be completed next summer, will feature four operating rooms, 16 pre- and post-surgical recovery rooms, 50 private rooms and a rehabilitation gym.
