Disgruntled employees can have a negative effect on the morale of the entire team, according to a Harvard Business Review blog post.
Here are nine ways to handle disgruntled employees:
Do:
• Keep telling your positive story about the organization's purpose, mission, goals and accomplishments.
• Make a small gesture or a small concession, even if you don't have to.
• Respond to rumors immediately.
• Inform your allies early and often.
• Keep moving ahead — envision the future.
Don't:
• Give them power and allow their claims to occupy a disproportionate amount of time.
• Adopt an angry tone when interacting with them.
• Assume that being right is enough.
• Start meetings or conversations by rehashing the situation.
