AAOS Approves Plan for new Headquarters

Practice Management

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons' board of directors has approved a plan to construct a new headquarters in Rosemont, Ill. The building will feature an expanded Orthopaedic Learning Center, energy-efficient systems and space for more than 20 orthopedic organizations. A new hotel will also be constructed on an adjacent land parcel.

The proposal has been in the works for three years by three separate board project teams.

AAOS is partnering with the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North American and OLC to own and operate the building.

AAOS moved into its current seven-story headquarters in 1991. The new building should be completed by 2014.
