Patrick Noud, MD, performed the first total shoulder arthroplasty using FH Orthopedics' Arrow Prime cementless glenoid base plate.
Here are five highlights:
1. Arrow Prime is designed to offer surgeons intraoperative flexibility, dual platform interchangeability and address indications for shoulder arthroplasty in an efficient four tray instrument system.
2. The system received FDA clearance in April 2017.
3. Because the Arrow Prime system does not require cement, physicians save costs and time and limit staff's exposure to harmful components in bone cement.
4. Dr. Noud said, "The Arrow Prime anatomic metal-backed glenoid and instrumentation were seamless and efficient, the press-fit of the porous implant impressive and the procedure was quicker, as no bone cement was required."
