ChartLogic, a provider of electronic health records, has announced 20 of its customers, all orthopedic medical groups, will qualify for federal "meaningful use" incentive payments for successful adoption of an EHR system.

The medical groups, located in 14 states, were expected to complete the application process on April 18, the first day for filing, according to a company news release. ChartLogic estimates these customers will receive a total of more than $400,000 on the first day of the program.

"We are proud of the fact that so many of our customers have qualified for meaningful use right out of the gate," said Brad Melis, executive vice president of ChartLogic, in the release. "There are many certified EHR products on the market. However, many physicians have found that it can be difficult to use their EHR on a routine basis, much less successfully meeting the high standards of the meaningful use rule."
