Intellirod Spine acquires new intellectual property: 5 key points

Intellirod Spine secured over $1 million in equity financing from new and existing investors led by the OhioHealth Innovation Development Fund and Queen City Angel First Fund V.

Here's what you need to know:

 

1. The funds will be used to reach milestones towards commercialization of the company's sensor technologies and related lumbar fusion implants.

 

2. Recently, Intellirod Spine's LOADPRO was used on its first patient to sensor and record strains on the spinal rods during kyphotic deformity correction surgery.

 

3. Intellirod announced its entrance into the digital health space with new intellectual property paving the way towards in-home remote monitoring through IntelliBrace.

 

4. The company anticipates being the first to offer autonomous data collection from their wireless implant, the ACCUVISTA rod strain sensor.

 

5. The OhioHealth Innovation Development Fund supports physicians, nurses and associates working to bring their product ideas to life, while also allowing them to retain ownership of their intellectual property.
