Ted Davis named President and CEO of Active Implants — 4 details

Memphis, Tenn.-based Active Implants has named Ted Davis its president and CEO.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. Mr. Davis has been involved in the life sciences industry for 25 years. His previous role was as CEO of Arlington, Tenn.-based MicroPort Orthopedics.  

 

2. He succeeds Henry Klyce, who will continue serving the company as chairman of the board.

 

3. Mr. Davis said, "We have an opportunity to fulfill a significant unmet need in the orthopedic market here in the U.S. and worldwide, helping the millions of patients with persistent knee pain following meniscectomies."

 

4. One of Active Implants' notable products, the NUsurface Meniscus Implant is an investigational treatment for patients suffering from consistent knee pain following medial meniscus surgery.
