Coastal Orthopedics' Dr. Gennady Gekht is 1st west coast Florida physician to use the Axium Neurostimulator System: 4 notes

Spinal Tech

Pain management specialist, Gennady Gekht, MD, is the first provider on Florida's west coast to use St. Jude Medical's Axium Neurostimulator System.

Here are four notes:

1. St. Jude Medical created the device to relieve pain in patients suffering from chronic, intractable pain.

2. The device works by stimulating the dorsal root ganglion, thereby targeting the source of the patient's pain.

3. The Axium Neurostimulator System is the first of its kind in that it targets the root ganglion spinal structure, unlike other various neurostimulation devices.

4. Dr. Gekht and Coastal Orthopedics are urging other providers to utilize the device when offering hernia, hip, knee and ankle procedures.

"The St. Jude technology enables us to successfully treat patients with chronic pain, many of whom have tried several other treatments and have not experienced adequate results," Dr. Gekht said. "This innovative therapy is a game changer that allows us to provide our patients with a higher quality of care."
