The Chinese Patent Office granted Dallas-based Pinnacle Spine Group a patent for its InFill fusion technology.
Here are four notes:
1. This will be the company's first international patent for the spinal fusion technology.
2. Pinnacle Spine Group already received three U.S. patents covering the spinal fusion technology.
3. The company also owns patents in Australia, Canada and Europe.
4. The technology places bone graft material in situ into an implanted device to maximize grater material volume and contact with vertebral endplates.
"From a commercial standpoint, this patent meaningfully underscores our leadership in spinal fusion," said Zach Sowell, president of Pinnacle Spine Group. "The industry's increased adoption of the very technology we designed, developed and patented is a testament to that."
