Westminster, Colo.-based Cerapedics' i-Factor bone graft is designed to enhance spinal outcomes for cervical spine fusion, according to Medical Device and Diagnostic Industry.

Here are four key points:

 

1. The bone graft is composed of a synthetic small peptide and anorganic bone mineral.

 

2. i-Factor fosters a favorable environment that enhances cell attachment to the ABM scaffold.

 

3. The FDA approved i-Factor, which is the first approved bone graft for the cervical spine.

 

4. In a clinical trial, i-Factor demonstrated a 69 percent success rate for all four outcomes compared to a 57 percent success rate for autograft.
