InVivo Therapeutics enrolls 7th patient in INSPIRE study: 5 quick points

InVivo Therapeutics enrolled the 7th patient in the INSPIRE study, which is testing the Neuro-Spinal Scaffold implant's efficacy.

Here are five quick points:

 

1. Charlotte, N.C.-based Carolinas Medical Center enrolled the patient.

 

2. Neurosurgeon Domagoj Coric, MD, implanted the device in the patient about 21 hours post-injury.

 

3. Dr. Coric has implanted the device in three patients.

 

4. The Neuro-Spinal Scaffold is designed to support appositional healing following acute spinal cord injury.

 

5. "This enrollment marks another important step toward completing the INSPIRE study and helping to address this enormous unmet medical need," said Mark Perrin, CEO and chairman, InVivo.
