VA to conduct multi-center study on ReWalk exoskeleton: 5 things to know

The Department of Veterans Affairs will conduct a national, multi-center study on Israel-based ReWalk Robotics' exoskeleton systems, according to Med Device Online.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. The study will involve 160 participants.

 

2. The VA plans to start the study in October 2016.

 

3. Six VA medical centers with spinal cord injury services in California, Florida, Massachusetts, Texas and Virginia will participate.

 

4. The ReWalk exoskeleton is the only FDA-cleared technology for spinal cord injury patients.

 

5. This study will be the first to assess an exoskeleton's impact on daily life.
