Zimmer Biomet net sales up 41.2% in 2015 to $3.6B: 10 key notes

Zimmer Biomet net sales were up for the 2015 full year.

Here are 10 things to know about the financial report:

 

1. Net sales in the Americas was up 41.2 percent in 2015 to $3.6 billion. Total net sales were reported as $5.9 billion for the full year, a 28.3 percent increase.

 

2. The knee product sales accounted for $2.2 billion last year, a 20.1 percent increase. Net sales for knee products in the Americas hit $1.3 billion, up 28 percent.

 

3. The hip product net sales hit $1.5 billion, up 15.9 percent; $790 million in the Americas for the full year.

 

4. In the fourth quarter, total net sales reached $1.9 billion, up $58.1 percent. In the Americas, the net sales hit $1.2 billion, up 77.6 percent.

 

5. Knee product sales in the fourth quarter were $712 million, up 43.5 percent. In the Americas, knee product net sales in the fourth quarter was $441 million, up 55.3 percent.

 

6. Hip sales in the fourth quarter reached $470 million, up 39.1 percent. The hip sales in the Americas hit $250 million, up 61.6 percent.

 

7. The net earnings in the fourth quarter was $29.7 million, a 39.2 percent increase over the same period last year.

 

8. The company utilized $150 million in the fourth quarter to acquire 1.4 million shares. Smith & Nephew reported $450 million available under the current share repurchase authorization as of Dec. 31, 2015.

 

9. The constant currency revenue for the full year of 2016 is expected to increase 1.5 percent and 2.5 percent. The company expects foreign currency to translate to a 2 percent revenue decrease this year.

 

10. Zimmer Biomet expects full year adjusted diluted earnings to hit $7.80 to $7.95.
