DePuy Synthes Q4 sales down 0.7%; 2015 sales drop 4.8%: 11 key notes

Johnson & Johnson's orthopedics sales are down in the fourth quarter and full year of 2015.

Here are 11 key notes:

 

1. United States orthopedics sales were up 7.4 percent to $1.4 billion in the fourth quarter. International sales were down 10.6 percent to $985 million.

 

2. Worldwide orthopedic sales were down 0.7 percent for the fourth quarter.

 

3. Hip sales in the fourth quarter were up 9.8 percent in the United States to $213 million. Worldwide hip sales were up 1.1 percent to $354 million.

 

4. United States knee sales in the fourth quarter were up 7.6 percent to $254 million. Worldwide sales were up 1 percent to $405 million.

 

5. Worldwide trauma sales were up 0.8 percent in the fourth quarter to $644 million; the United States sales were up 7.7 percent but international sales were down 7.7 percent for trauma.

 

6. United States spine and other sales in the fourth quarter were up 6.3 percent to $592 million while worldwide spine sales were down 2.9 percent to $1.02 billion.

 

7. Full year 2015 orthopedic sales were up 3.5 percent to $5.3 billion in the United States; the worldwide 2015 sales were down 4.3 percent to $9.2 billion.

 

8. Worldwide hip sales were down 2.5 percent was $1.3 billion; the United States sales were up 4.8 percent to $781 million in 2015.

 

9. In 2015, knee sales were down 2.4 percent to $1.4 billion; United States sales were up 4.3 percent to $916 million.

 

10. The United States trauma sales in 2015 were up 3.1 percent to $1.4 billion and worldwide sales were down 4.2 percent to $2.5 billion for the full year.

 

11. Worldwide spine sales were down 5.5 percent to $3.9 billion in 2015; United States spine sales were up 3 percent to $2.2 billion.
