Spinal Tech

Pinnacle Spine Group received a patent titled "Intervertebral Implants and Related Tools," the third covering the company's InFill fusion technology.

Here are five key notes:

1. The new patent covers systems that promote enhanced spinal fusion regardless of the implant type or approach.

2. This new patent strengthens Pinnacle Spine's previous InFill Fusion technology patent coverage as part of the company's larger United States and international filings.

3. Pinnacle Spine's prior patents related to the spinal implants and methods of post-filling for superior spinal fusion results.

4. The company plans to continue working with surgeons and partners to improve the company's systems and promote InFill's family of fusion systems.

5. Pinnacle Spine already has projects underway for 2016 and Zach Sowell, the company's president, is looking forward to a year of growth.

"This new patent significantly broadens our overall intellectual property portfolio and, from a commercial standpoint, meaningfully strengthens our patent position in the area of spinal fusion," he said.
