A new robotically-assisted device has debuted at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas.
Here are three highlights:
1. The device is known as the da Vinci Xi and will be used for complex surgeries.
2. The procedure involves making a small incision in the body to conduct operations such as prostate removal, kidney and bladder surgeries and colon surgeries.
3. The da Vinci Xi is newly designed with wristed instruments, intuitive motion, ergonomic design, greater 3-D HD visualization and improved overhead architecture which allows the surgeon to perform multi-quadrant surgery without repositioning the system.
