Atlas Spine develops technology for posterior approach: 5 key points

Spinal Tech

Atlas Spine has added the True Position XL TLIF system to its products.

Here are five key points:

1. The technology is designed for the TruLIF technique, which provides surgeons direct compression and one incision during the minimally invasive procedure.

2. Atlas developed this technology to meet surgeons' need to insert larger implants from a posterior approach.

3. The True Positions XL uses its pivot for rotation, and enables surgeons to properly place the implant with a MIS approach.

4. The system also offers disc prep instrumentation.

5. John Shiau, MD, of Staten Island (N.Y.) University Hospital, performed the first surgery with the device in September.

"Surgeons finally have an L5/S1 posterior solution where lateral approaches are not an option," said Matt Bayhnahm, Atlas CTO. "True Position's center pivot technology achieves what no other TLIF device on the market can do."
