Vertebral Technologies' InterFuse S interbody device was approved and used for the first time in Taiwan.
Here are four things to know:
1. The surgery is the first in the commercial launch of the device in Taiwan.
2. The expandable, modular, interbody fusion device is designed to treat spine conditions through a minimally invasive surgery.
3. The device was implanted in a patient who had fusion surgery two years earlier but whose condition had not improved.
4. Vertebral Technologies is a privately held company based in Minnetonka, Minn., and it is focused on the design, development and marketing of medical devices for spinal conditions.
