Zyga receives 2 new patents for SImmetry Sacroiliac Joint Fusion System: 5 facts

Spinal Tech

Zyga Technology, a medical spine device company in Minnetonka, Minn., received two U.S. patents for its SImmetry Sacroiliac Joint Fusion System.

Here are five facts:

1. U.S. patent number, 9,113,919, deals with the SImmetry Decorticator's design.

2. The SImmetry Decorticator prepares the sacroiliac joint for fusion by clearing space for autologous bone graft and creating bleeding bone.

3. U.S. patent number, 9,101,371, describes a revision of a failed previous SI joint fusion surgery.

4. Revisions are necessary in spine surgery procedure development, so patients possess options for further treatments, if required.

5. With the addition of these two patents, Zyga holds 11 patents.

"These latest patents make IP claims in connection with our technology that underscore our commitment to advancing the field of SI joint fusion," said Jim Bullock, Zyga president and CEO.
