Here are 19 key notes on orthopedic and spine device companies over the past week.

Stryker is recalling nearly 17,000 units of five of its orthopedic products including rHead, uHead, Sigmoid Notch, Remotion and Radio Capitellum products.

 

Exactech shares dropped 0.66 percent during the week of Aug. 17 to Aug. 21 and dropped 7.25 percent in the last four weeks.

 

NuVasive plans to build a new medical device manufacturing facility. The facility is projected to create hundreds of new jobs and will employ more than 300 people on a permanent basis.

Greatbatch is buying Lake Region Medical for approximately $730 million in cash and stock. The acquisition is the latest in a string of medical device company mergers in 2015. Lake Region Medical develops cardio and vascular products as well as advances surgical products, which includes spine and joint reconstruction devices.
