Fiagon NA, a medical technology company for surgical navigation systems, partnered with Entellus Medical, a medical technology company for sinusitis, to bring Fiagon Image Guidance Systems to the United States.
Here are five observations:
1. Entellus Medical will be the only distributor of Fiagon Image Guidance Systems to ENT offices and ASCs in the United States.
2. Fiagon uses the proprietary "FlexSensor" electromagnetic-based navigation technology to create surgical navigation systems.
3. The Entellus XprESS Pro balloon dilation system and the Fiagon image guidance system will allow ENT physicians to more accurately place devices during ENT procedures.
4. Europe and Asia already use the technology in neurosurgery and spine surgery.
5. Entellus is leading the effort in moving balloon sinus dilation from the operating room to the physician's office to improve patient experience.
"Physicians will be able to use the Fiagon system to assist in balloon sinus dilation procedures as well as to guide other surgical instruments such as microdebriders and suction devices as physicians increasingly expand the variety of surgical procedures they perform in the office," said Robert White, president and CEO of Entellus Medical.
