Tyber Medical acquired an exclusive licensing agreement for an antimicrobial surface coating technology.
Here are four observations:
1. The technology is intended for use in certain orthopedic applications.
2. It is called BioTy Antimicrobial Surface Coating and it can be applied to a variety of implant materials, including titanium, stainless steel, cobalt chrome and PEEK.
3. The agreement between Tyber Medical and the biomaterial research institution also includes refining the manufacturing process as well as ongoing funding for additional scientific studies.
4. Tyber Medical is a private label original equipment manufacturer. It designs and develops class II orthopedic systems.
