Medtronic launches Surgical Synergy Spinal Platform system: 5 key notes

Spinal Tech

Medtronic launched the CD Horizon Solera Voyager Spinal System for minimally invasive spine procedures.

Here are five things to know:

1. The new system expands on the transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion procedure to include multiple minimally invasive rod insertion options and seamless three-dimensional navigation.

2. Surgeons can use either a percutaneous or Wiltse minimally invasive approach for rod insertion, and the system features a low-profile, extended-tab screw with inner threading to ease rod insertion and facilitate rod reduction.

3. The system is part of the Medtronic Surgical Synergy Spinal Platform, an integrated portfolio of navigated surgical technologies. The systems are designed to minimize operating room time from interruption and constraints.

4. The system was released at the International Meeting on Advanced Spine Techniques in Malaysia.

5. The system was made available in countries around the world.
