EOS imaging, a company working on 2D/3D orthopedic medical imaging, announced yesterday the installation of the first EOS system at Texas Back Institute, which will serve pediatric and adult patients suffering from spinal deformities and degenerative spine, hip and knee conditions.
The EOS system provides 2D and 3D full-body stereo-radiographic images of patients in functional positions. EOS exams require a radiation dose 50 percent to 85 percent less than Digital Radiology and 95 percent less than basic CT scans.
EOS imaging will have a presence at AAOS 2015, as well, and will exhibit and host an educational symposium to support the launch of hipEOS in the United States.
