Intuitive Surgical announced its founding partnership in the American Hernia Society Quality Collaborative.

The surgeon-led, online quality initiative is designed to enable surgeons to share real-time patient data on abdominal hernias, review peer and institutional data, as well as assess best practices, decision support and care pathways. The company is among six foundation partners in the collaborative.

"Scientifically driven quality initiatives like AHSQC are one of the important ways to advance patient care and we are pleased to join industry partners in supporting AHSQC," said Myriam Curet, MD, senior vice president and CMO of Intuitive Surgical.

The company focuses on robotic-assisted, minimally invasive surgery. It develops, manufactures and markets the da Vinci Surgical System.
