Biomet co-founder Dane Miller, PhD, has passed away.
Dr. Miller was one of the company's four founders and served as CEO from 1977 to 2006. He was dedicated to the growth of the company and its team members. Under his leadership, Biomet grew from earning $17,000 in revenues in 1978 to more than $2 billion in sales in 2006.
"Dane's influence will continue to be felt by our communities, our industry and the people whose lives he touched. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dane's family, and with those who loved him," wrote Jeff Binder, president and CEO of Biomet, in a statement.
