Expanding Orthopedics closed the first distribution agreement for the three-dimensional Expandable FLXfit Cage.
The company signed an agreement with the Brad Rummer-owned Trout Medical. Here are five things to know:
1. The distribution agreement will distribute the expandable cage in Texas.
2. Mr. Rummer has experience as the largest Medtronic spine distributor for 25 years before selling his company to Medtronic in 2011. Mr. Rummer called the new relationship "exciting."
3. The new relationship could have the ability and pipeline to release additional differentiated products to the market as the FLXfit.
4. Expandable cages are among the fastest-growing spine segments.
5. The FLXfit technology includes minimally invasive capability, large bone graft chamber, smooth insertion and placement, and unique lordotic expansion designed to correct sagittal balance.
