Bacterin expanded its sales team, adding several people in key leadership roles.

This announcement comes on the heels of Bacterin's new CEO Daniel Goldberger joining in the third quarter. He has lost no time implementing his strategy for success.

"My top priority since joining Bacterin in Q3 of 2014 was to put in place a management team, sales infrastructure and marketing strategy to drive profitable revenue," said Mr. Goldberger. The company deployed 25 productive field sales employees and 106 manufacturers representatives as of Sept. 30, and Mr. Goldberger expects to have 29 productive sales employees by the end of the year.

The new sales managers all bring established relationships with physicians and manufacturers, and Mr. Goldberger expects these new leaders to accelerate revenue growth as they become more productive through next year. The new leaders include:

•    Jeff Whitaker hired as regional vice president in the Southeast. Mr. Whitaker comes to Bacterin after working with Stryker Biotech, Mitek Surgical Products and Acufex Microsurgical.

•    Doug Helling joining the company as regional vice president in the South. He has experience at Flower Orthopedics, ApaTech, Anulex Technologies and Synthes USA.

•    Ed Dailey serving as regional vice president in the Northeast. He previously served with Baxter Biosurgery, Covidien, DJ Ortho and Zimmer.

Earlier this week, Bacterin announced preliminary total revenue for the third quarter increased 6 percent to 7 percent over the same period last year, reaching $8.4 million to $8.5 million. The company has invested in new products, in addition to sales force growth, to position the company for continued success.

"We are now starting to realize the benefits of these investments and we expect to see our revenue accelerate by the end of 2015," he said.
