The U.S. Supreme Court has reversed a decision by a lower court in the patent infringement case against Medtronic, according to a Mondaq report. The court unanimously decided the patentee bears the burden of persuasion on patent infringement in the case of Medtronic v. Mirowski Family Ventures.

Mirowski had licensed its products to Medtronic, and the court found Mirowski failed to carry its burden of proving that Medtronic has infringed certain patents.
