Atlanta-based MedShape received FDA 510(k) clearance for its Eclipse Soft Tissue Anchor, a shape memory fixation device to attach tendon, ligament and soft tissue to bone.
The Eclipse has a non-rotational insertion method for improved fixation strength compared to screws and other traditional devices, according to the release. It's made out of MedShape's proprietary PEEK Altera material.

MedShape is a medical device company that uses shape and memory technologies to improve outcomes in sports medicine, joint fusion and musculoskeletal trauma.
