Smith & Nephew has released an extension to the LEGION Total Knee System, featuring implants thinner in the medial and lateral dimension.
The thinner design gives surgeons the ability to get closer to the patient's anatomy for a better fit. Improved fit can cause increased satisfaction and decreased pain, according to the release.

The extension is also designed to reduce artificial joint wear.
