Duke University's Dr. David Berkoff Joins the Board of Directors of Fuse Science

Dr. David J. Berkoff, MD, a professor at Duke University and team physician for the school's student athletes, was recently named to the board of directors of Fuse Science, an Aventura, Fla.-based company, according to a company news release.

Fuse Science is a medical technologies development company, and Dr. Berkoff's experience and research with athletes will help guide the company in developing sports medicine products. In addition to his work at Duke, Dr. Berkoff serves as a sports medicine consultant for the National Basketball Association and has conducted pre-World Cup physicals for USA Soccer.

Dr. Berkoff's peer-reviewed research articles focus on the athlete's heart rate variability and endurance, and he addresses electrolyte supplementation's impact on the athletes. Dr. Berkoff earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University in New York City and completed his fellowship in primary care sports medicine at Duke University.
