MedShape Solutions Releases Larger ExoShape Device Sizes

Spinal Tech

MedShape Solutions, an Atlanta-based orthopedic device company, now provides larger sizes of its ExoShape CL, a two-part PEEK Altera interference fixation device for soft tissue graft fixation during anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, according to a company news release.

The company has received FDA Special 510(k) clearance to bring the modified product to the market. The new sizes are still 30 millimeters in length but are available in diameters of 10, 11 and 12 millimeters. The larger sizes are designed for surgeons performing revision ACL surgeries and to utilize the transtibial reconstruction technique where the femoral fixation device may require an oversized tibial tunnel.

The device features a non-rotational deployment technique meant to preserve the soft tissue graft bundle orientation and tension during single-tunnel double-bundle procedures.
