Crestwood Medical Center adopts 1st Medtronic O-arm for spine surgery in Northern Alabama

Spinal Tech

Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Ala., is the first hospital in North Alabama to offer the Medtronic O-arm Intra-operative Imaging System and the StealthStation Surgical Navigation System for spine surgeries, according to an Al.com.

The O-arm generates images of a patient's anatomy that are used during the procedure, and it provides surgeons with two- and three-dimensional perspectives of the surgery site. Crestwood's spine surgeons are using the technologies for numerous procedures, including lumbar fusions, oblique and posterior lumbar interbody fusion for spinal stenosis and posterior cervical fusions requiring screw placement for spinal stenosis, according to the report.
