Stryker may have global hip lawsuits settlement soon

Spinal Tech

Experts predict a global settlement will be announced for lawsuits associated with Stryker's ABG II and Rejuvenate Hip Model Systems, which were recalled in July 2012, according to a Legal Examiner report.

At the time, there were 20,000 of the systems implanted across the country and in 2013 a few of the cases began mediation and were settled. If a global settlement isn't announced, the report predicts the first bellwether trials my be set.

Stryker could face more than 1,000 hip lawsuits in state and federal courts, according to the report.
