MicroPort Orthopedics Invests $100M in Tennessee Facility

MicroPort Orthopedics, a China-based orthopedic implant company, plans to invest $100 million over the next five years in product design and manufacturing, according to an AreaDevelopment report.

The company will expand its existing location in Arlington, Tenn., and create 171 jobs in Shelby County. The partnership will allow the company to accelerate plans for a training facility to educate surgeons and their sales team, contributing to the company's future growth. Tennessee currently exports more than $32.4 billion in products around the world, including other medical equipment and supplies.
