GE Healthcare has unveiled a new software program for producing a readable MRI scan in patients with metal implants, according to a Dotmed Daily News report. The software, MAVRIC SL, was first used this week at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. It was designed to tackle a need for clear imaging of soft tissue in patients with metal hip, knee and joint implants. However, it is also effective for other metal implants, such as dental.
