Simionix, a company that provides medical education and simulation training, has purchased ARTHRO VR, a virtual reality arthroscopic training simulator, from Spain-based GMV, according to a company news release.
ARTHRO VR is designed to train physicians with the skills required for arthroscopic surgery and includes a line of simulated procedures. The company combines fiberglass limb replicas with three dimensional images and haptic sensation to replicate the procedures, which are performed using a realistic set of tools.
