1. Orthopedics comprises only five percent of the nation's single-specialty ASCs.
2. Orthopedics is performed in 21 percent of all ASCs (single- and multi-specialty).
3. The average number of annual orthopedic procedures performed at an ASC (that offers orthopedics) is 1,236.
4. Based on a survey of nearly 3,900 surgery centers, orthopedics makes up nine percent of all procedure volume in ASCs.
